Roof - Gable

A simple covering on a home or building is the gable roof. With the rafters supported on either exterior wall, this kind of structure has two flat planes that project towards the pinnacle in the middle. The roof can run past the end of the wall for one to two feet and gutters run along the lower edge to catch rainwater.

The covering over the porch in the house shown also has a gable roof which matches structure at the top.
